As the name implies these funds have the objective
the pursuit of maximum capital gains. Their usual main strategy is
to acquire stocks of rapidly growing and speculative companies in
industries that show rapid expansion such as technology, health,
energy.
These funds like to focus on mid cap, small cap
and micro cap enterprises and often in a single industry. These
mutual funds are highly volatile performing very well in bull
markets and very badly in bear market easily between 25% to
40% of the average market swings.
These funds are more suitable for the long term
investor who is comfortable with above average risk and
fluctuations.
